Opera for patients with Alzheimer

In 2003 Magnea and the organist Guðmundur Sigurðsson published a CD "Allt svo verði til dýrðar þér" by Smekkleysa. It contained folk versions of psalms, including Passions psalms of Hallgrímur Pétursson. For the last few years Magnea has concentrated on making music and active listening to music for people with dementia. Magnea is a lecturer at Listaháskóli Íslands for the course "Music and dementia" where improvisation is used in music workshops and the creative process is the core of the workshop. Magnea works for Hlíðarbær, a local day-care centre in Reykjavík for people with dementia.
