The end is near! 

Can you defend chasing your dreams when the end of the world is just around the corner? In Is this it?, Patrick Egersborg brings Rigoletto, Javert, Macbeth, and the Flying Dutchman to his aid to answer that very question.

.In a desperate attempt to make his dreams come true before the world comes to an end, Patrick weaves arias from operatic masterpieces together with his own text in a frantic, kamikaze-style performance filled with black humor and self-deprecation. 

In the show, Patrick tackles our collective doomsday anxiety, using works like Rigoletto, Man of La Mancha, Macbeth, and The Flying Dutchman as a mirror to contemporary times - a world characterized by war, polarization, and climate disasters. The performance is loosely based on Patrick's own experience as an ambitious opera singer trying to find his footing in a world where the apocalypse seems just around the corner.

The production was produced in collaboration with the Herning Opera Festival, which commissioned the piece after excerpts of it were performed at Reykjavik Opera Days in 2023. The show premiered at Team Teatret in August 2024 at the Herning Opera Festival and was later performed at Kulturmødet Mors.
