Amerikanische Songs & German Lieder

Magnús Halldór, tenor, and Bjarni Frímann, pianist will perform 5 old American folk song arranged by Aaron Copland. The songs give a taste of the American folk song tradition, all the way from a Quaker hymn to a nonsense children's song.
Also on the programme are three well known Lieder by Franz Schubert about bittersweet love; failed flirtation, unrequited love and love lost.
Hugo Wolf ends the concert with two "wanderer" poems and a song about a critic that arrives uninvited and gets his comeuppance.
