Lilja María Ásmundsdóttir is an artist and musician from Iceland. Her artistic practice is centred on explorations of collaborative creativity. Working with sculptural elements of sound and matter, she creates installations, audio-visual pieces, and performances. The works are designed to facilitate continuous processes that highlight how ideas surface from correspondences with materials, between individuals, and in context to one’s surroundings. 

Lilja María’s works include the sound and light sculpture Hulda which was nominated for the President’s Student Innovation Award. Her works have for example been exhibited at Dark Music Days Festival, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Donaueschinger Musiktage and eavesdropping. 

Lilja María holds a BMus degree in music performance from Iceland University of the Arts and an MA degree in composition from City, University of London. In 2024, she finished her PhD at City, University of London researching collaborative creativity within artistic practices.
