Is she a vision, a wandering ghost, or a siren rising from the depths?

A majestic soprano glides across the water in an enormous dress made of umbrellas, singing beautiful arias. Two mysterious aquatic attendants guide her slowly forward as her voice carries across the water.

The Floating Diva is an enchanting musical and visual spectacle by Dutch artist Victorine Pasman, who conceived and designed the work. Inspired by 17th-century dress, the Dutch landscape, and tales of mermaids and shipwrecked women, the piece exists somewhere between opera, visual art, and dream.

As dusk falls, the dress begins to glow, transforming the diva into a shimmering creature of light floating across the water.
