Bjarni Snæbjörnsson graduated with a BFA in Acting from the Iceland University of the Arts in 2007. Since then, he has appeared in numerous productions with independent theatre companies and at all of Iceland’s major institutional theatres, most notably the National Theatre of Iceland and the theatre collective Perplex Theatre (Stertabenda).

His career has been marked by a wide range of roles spanning classical works, new Icelandic plays, and musicals, including Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Misérables, Perplex, My Brilljant Friend, The Master and Margarita, Frozen, and Triangle of Shame.

Bjarni was one of the writers and producers of the solo show Good Morning, Faggi, presented by Stertabenda in collaboration with the National Theatre of Iceland. The production ran for two years and toured the country twice, earning him a nomination for Singer of the Year at the Icelandic Performing Arts Awards in 2022.

He is also the author of Mennska (Humanity), which received the 2026 Storytel Audiobook of the Year Award.

In addition to his theatre work, Bjarni has been involved in a variety of musical projects and is one of the producers and performers behind the concert series If Life Were a Musical and Musical Styles, both celebrating the world of musical theatre.

Alongside his stage career, Bjarni has worked extensively in film and television, appearing in numerous series, feature films, and commercials. He currently works as a freelance performing artist, writer, teacher, and owner of a flower shop.
