The Norwegian tenor Mikkel Skorpen(1990) studied at the ArtEZ Hogeschool voor de kunsten in Zwolle, The Netherlands, and at the Opera Academy in Oslo.
In the season 2015/16 Mikkel was a part of the Opera Studio of Opera National de Lyon where he sang Harlekin as well as A Soldier in Viktor Ullmanns Der Kaiser Von Atlantisk and Dr. S in Michael Nymans The Man Who Mistook His Wife For a Hat. March 2018 Mikkel Skorpen made his debut at the Norwegian National Opera as Arturo in Lucia Di Lammermoor by Donizetti and later the same spring he sang Basilio in Le Nozze Di Figaro by Mozart with the Opera Academy also at the National Opera. At the Norwegian National Opera he proceeded to perform roles such as Chaplitsky in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen Of Spades, Un venditore di canzonette / Due amanti in Puccini’s Il Tabarro, Arthur Jones in Britten’s Billy Budd, David Syngemester in Fliflet Bræin’s Anne Pedersdotter and Aeneas in Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas.

In 2021 Mikkel sang the role as Mercury in Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld, which he will reprise in the fall of 2023 at the Norwegian National Opera. In 2022 Mikkel sung two productions at the Bergen National Opera. The first as Sylvester (Sylvaine) in The Merry Widow by Lehar, and as King Caspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors.

Mikkel also sang the role as Orpheus/ Man in The Corridor by Birtwhistle in 2022 with Piteå Kammaropera and Norrbotten NEO which they took on tour around the north of Sweden.
