The author Elísabet Jökulsdóttir hardly needs introduction, but her first book, the poetry book Dans í lokuðu herbergi, was published in 1989, and since then she has published a number of books: poetry, stories and novels. She has also written a number of plays that have been staged in Iceland and abroad and created various performances that have, among elsewhere, appeared on National Television. Her poetry book Ástin ein taugahrúga, enginn dans við Ufsaklett (Love a nervous brakedown, no dance at Ufsaklettur) was published in 2014. It was very well received and won the Feminist literary awards as well as being nominated for the Nordic Council's Literature Prize the following year.
