Darri is a CODA (child of deaf adults) who holds a bacchelor's degree in Japanese Language and Culture as well as a master's degree in Cultural Studies. He works as a part-time teacher at the sign language department in the University of Iceland and is one of two members of Táknsmiðjan where he and Magnús Freyr Magnússon teach Icelandic signs on social media and go between schools to promote Icelandic Sign Language and Deaf/CODA culture.
Darri has presented at Tjarnarbíó at the day of Icelandic Sign Language and regularly writes poems and songs in Icelandic Sign Language with the goal of bridging the gap between the Deaf-World and the Hearing world.
