Online knowledge exchange: Thinking outside the (black)box.

Independent opera/music theatre makers, classical vocal artists and their collaborators in the days of Covid.

Inspiring and independent opera makers, classical vocal artists and their collaborators from the Northern countries and around the world are invited to The Reykjavík Opera Days 2020 online symposium on November 13th.

Join us in online presentations and discussion on the topic "thinking outside the (black)box". In the days of Covid many independent artists have had to think outside the box and find new avenues when creating, producing and/or performing their vocal arts projects. Funding is often scarce, and stage and audience restrictions can be limiting to a point that a traditional performance is no longer financially and/or artistically feasible.

Still, all around the world people are making art in exciting ways. What methods are these artists using during the current global restrictions? By sharing our solutions, methods and progress the aim is to inspire and strengthen the independent scene in a time that sometimes can seem opposed to traditional stage art.

In order to attend please register by sending an e-mail to operudagar@operudagar.is with your name and a short introduction. We will then send you the zoom-link closer to the event date.

Please feel free to invite your colleagues who could be interested in attending the symposium to this event.
